Terms of service

What you and we agree to when you use Knitglow, in plain words.

Updated October 30, 2026 · in effect from the same day.

These terms and who runs Knitglow

These terms are the conditions for using Knitglow, this website and the app in it. Knitglow is run by the operator named under “Operator” below. By using the free features, creating an account or subscribing to Knitglow Plus, you agree to these terms.

How we handle personal data is on the Privacy page, and refunds are in the Refund policy. Both are part of these terms.

What Knitglow does

Knitglow is a tool for making and editing knitting charts and for following rows and repeats while you knit. What you can do depends on how you use it.

The chart sizes and kinds we handle today, and known limits, are on the Plus page. Features marked “coming soon” are not part of Plus yet.

Your account

You create an account with Google or an emailed sign-in link. Use your account yourself and don't share it, and keep the Google account or email you sign in with secure. If you think someone else used your account, tell us right away.

To delete your account, email us at the address below. If you subscribe to Plus, we cancel the subscription too so it doesn't renew. Charts stored in this browser stay where they are when the account is deleted.

Plus subscription and payment

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle handles payment, tax, receipts, billing questions and refunds. Paddle's buyer terms apply to your payment alongside these terms.

The price and the yearly billing period are shown on the Plus page and in the Paddle checkout before you pay. If tax applies where you live, the checkout shows the final amount first.

Plus renews automatically for the same period at the same price until you cancel, and is charged to your saved payment method on the renewal date.

Before each renewal, we email you about 30 days ahead (and no later than 20 days before) with the date, the amount and how to cancel.

Before we raise the price or make something free paid, we email you at least 30 days ahead and ask for your consent. The new price applies only if you agree; if you don't, your subscription ends when the period you've paid for runs out.

You can cancel any time, in two ways. Cancel at the end of the period, and the next renewal stops while Plus stays on until the period you've paid for ends. Or cancel right away with Cancel now and get a refund on the Plus page: Plus ends that day and we refund the unused part, pro rata by day, or the whole payment within the full-refund window. Both are on the Plus page, where you subscribe. How each works, and the math, are in the Refund policy.

If a minor subscribes without a parent or guardian's consent, the minor or the guardian can cancel the subscription.

When Plus ends, sync stops and the free account's conversion limit applies again. Charts on this device stay, and we don't delete the copies already synced to your account.

Refunds

We refund in full, no questions asked, within 30 days of your first payment and within 14 days of any renewal. After that, you can still cancel right away and get the unused part back. Details and how to do it are in the Refund policy.

Your charts and content

You keep the rights to the charts, notes and photos you make. You only let us use them as far as we need to provide Knitglow, such as storing, syncing, converting and displaying them.

If you make a chart or a photo of a finished piece public, you also let us show it on Knitglow so anyone can view it and knit from it, until you make it private again. After that we stop showing it; personal copies others already made may stay on their devices.

We take samples to improve chart recognition only from charts where you chose “Help improve recognition”, as described on the Privacy page.

What not to do

Charts, conversions and estimates

Conversion results are drafts: review each cell against the original pattern and approve the chart before you knit. Some gallery charts haven't been test-knitted yet, and we say so on them. Cast-on numbers are estimates from the gauge you enter, so check with a swatch before a big project.

Changes to the service

We may change or add features to improve the service, or for technical or legal reasons. Before we remove a feature that's part of Plus or stop selling Plus, we tell you why at least 30 days ahead, and you can cancel right away and get the unused part of your period back. Knitglow may be briefly unavailable for maintenance or outages; we announce planned maintenance in advance.

You can download a copy of your charts any time with Export backup in the Your work menu.

Suspension and ending

If you do something listed under “What not to do” or break the law, we may restrict your use or close your account. Before we do, we email you the reason and give you 30 days to respond. Only when there is immediate harm to others or to the service do we restrict first, and then tell you right away. You can stop using Knitglow and ask us to delete your account at any time.

If we close your account for a reason other than a breach of these terms, we refund the unused part of your paid Plus period.

Liability

We're responsible under the law for damage caused by our intent or negligence. We aren't responsible for damage caused by your own fault, or by events we couldn't prevent, such as natural disasters or network outages beyond our control.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we post what changes, why, and when it applies on this page and in the app at least 7 days ahead. Changes that are worse for you get at least 30 days' notice, also by email if you have an account.

When we do, we also tell you clearly that if you don't object before the change applies, you'll be treated as agreeing. If you don't agree, tell us or cancel before then, and we refund the unused part of your Plus period, pro rata by day.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. If the consumer protection law where you live gives you stronger rights, you keep them. If you have a complaint or a problem, email us at the address below. If you live in Korea, you can also ask a consumer dispute body such as the Korea Consumer Agency for help. Courts with jurisdiction over a dispute are determined under Korean civil procedure and private international law.
